Finance & Control is responsible for providing reliable and high quality financial and management information and for control services to the wholesale business in a timely, efficient and professional manner. Our customers include senior management of wholesale business units, Corporate Clients, CT and Securities, as well as Control RI, Control Group and regulatory authorities. Utrecht F&C consists of three departments: Regulatory and Management Reporting, Middle Office Product Control and General Ledger Control Group.
Middle Office Product Control is part of Finance & Control. Besides the F&C customers MOPC has a strong link with front office traders of Global Financial Markets, back office and static data departments. MOPC consists of several sub-departments, Accounting & Control, Client Structured Products, P&L teams and Technical Advisory Team.
Your function
The Teamlead Control is responsible for ensuring that adequate and robust controls are in place regarding the businesses under his/her charge. The main focus of the Control team is to ensure correct valuation and pricing of all product portfolios within scope of Utrecht MOPC, such as Equity Derivatives, (Credit) Bonds and Interest Derivatives (linear and non-linear).
Your profile
Product Control also has an important role in setting up new businesses, implementing new systems and improving existing processes and controls. The role of the product controller is a combination of daily and monthly tasks with the emphasis on analysis, problem-solving and (further) development of the testing procedures. In projects the expertise of the controller regarding products and valuation is used both in an advisory and operational role. Project related work varies from ad hoc activities within the department as well as involvement in major systems/architecture changes.
Responsibilities for the Teamlead Control:
1. To ensure correct valuation and pricing of the product portfolios by:
• development and maintenance of the controls;
• processing/analysis/evaluation of the test results;
• clear and precise reporting of results and identified risks to all
stakeholders
2. Instructing, coaching, motivating and evaluating the performance of the team members. Further development of that team is achieved by training or by providing the necessary training facilities/opportunities (within reason and subject to team and individual Personal Development Plans).
Required knowledge:
• Degree (Bachelor/Masters) ideally in (Business) Economics,
Finance, Econometrics, Mathematics;
• In depth knowledge of Investment (and corporate) banking
products, Treasury and Capital Markets and product valuation
methodologies
• Strong PC skills (Intermediate to Advanced Excel is a must,
Visual Basic is desirable);
• Able to cope with time pressure and deadlines.
• Basic knowledge of financial accounting (IFRS)
